Congratulations to our selected finalists who will have their film screened on Saturday April 5th in the Roone Arledge Cinema of Columbia University (more info here)! After receiving over 100 film submissions from colleges and universities across the nation, we have selected the top 11 films to compete for our coveted awards and cash prizes.

Film Submission Deadline Extended to Monday 3/10

Attention all filmmakers

We have extended our deadline!!!

The new final deadline for submitting a film is MONDAY, MARCH 10, 2008. Your submission must be postmarked on or before this date. The submission fee is $20. You can find the submission form and information here

Our 4th Annual Film Festival

February 26th, 2008

When: Saturday, April 5th, 2008 7pm-10pm
Where
:
Roone Arledge Cinema in Lerner Hall [map], Columbia University [directions], New York
How Much
: $3 admission, which includes the cost for films and food
What to Expect:

  • The top 10 selected short films from a pool of hundreds of student filmmakers from around the country.
  • An awards ceremony which will determine who will receive over $1500 worth of cash and prizes, chosen by a panel of film professionals and celebrities
  • If that’s not enough, we will have a full three-course meal served during intermissions.

CUNUFF 2008 - Call for Submissions

November 1st, 2007

We are excited to announce our official call for submissions! Here are the important points:

  • Submitted films must be under 20 minutes
  • We accept films of any genre
  • Student filmmaker must be currently enrolled in high school or an undergraduate college or university
  • DVD format highly preferred, however Mini-DV formats will also be accepted

Here are the important deadlines:

  • Early Deadline - $10 - January 22nd, 2008
  • Regular Deadline - $15 - February 29th, 2008
  • Late Deadline - $20 - March 5th, 2008

This year, we are happy to announce that in addition to having your film screened in front of hundreds of people and having a panel of film-industry professionals and professors judge the top ten selected films, we will also be giving out cash prizes in addition to glass statuettes in the following categories:

  • Best Picture - $400 prize
  • Best Directed - $100 prize
  • Best Screenplay - $50 prize
  • Concord Award - $50 prize - best film as voted by the audience
  • Best Editing
  • Best Cinematography
  • Best Acting
  • Opus Award - for best use of music and sound
  • Frontiers Award - for most original film
  • Gateway Award - for an outstanding film of a humanitarian nature or a film dedicated to community service
